The Importance of Companionship

A new study conducted by Michigan Medicine found that one in three adults lack regular companionship. It then went on to highlight linkages between chronic loneliness and health issues ranging from memory loss to shorter lives. This trend is particularly strong among people aged 50 to 80.

It seems that during our busy lives we can overlook the importance of companionship. It’s easy to forget how much joy little things like good company and conversation can bring us every day. In honor of June being 'Care for Your Grandparents' month, we want to highlight the importance of spending quality time with our loved ones. Sometimes all it takes is a simple act of caring such as a smiling face or a quick story over a cup of tea to make someone’s day. Even the smallest of acts have the potential to turn a life around.

At Castle Homecare, companionship care is of the utmost importance. Companionship includes everything from a quick check-in and chat to more comprehensive care such as light housekeeping or help with shopping. We work tirelessly to ensure your loved ones can live independently in the comfort of their own home.

Our homecare services include:

  • Washing & Dressing
  • Meal Preparation
